This module addresses the specific and varied moments in a clinician's career journey during which they may seek support.​ 

The resource is primarily aimed at consultants and senior SAS/ LE doctors, nurses and midwives Band 7 and above. However, resident doctors, nurses and midwives at all levels may find the resources helpful​.

When you have completed this module, you will be able to:

  • support IMGs transitioning to UK, through providing an induction and building networks
  • address differential attainment, exam support, neurodiversity, and ARCPs
  • address racism through supporting victims, finding opportunities for organisational learning, and providing post-adverse event support
  • promote allyship, coaching, mentorship, and wellbeing.

Idowu Adeoye (2025)

Idowu, at Kettering General Hospital, East Midlands, draws on his lived experience of bias and discrimination in the NHS and is committed to work to support colleagues facing barriers to career progression and improve workplace behaviour, civility saves lives. 

Karen Joash (2025)

Karen is Head of School for the London region, a consultant in O&G and Member of RCOG. This module builds on content developed by Karen on tackling differential attainment across the medical training pathway and beyond.

Edwin Maogoto (2025)

Edwin, at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust, South West, was inspired by a supportive educational supervisor when he was new to the UK and was struggling with challenges of adapting to working life in the UK. Edwin now mentors new International Medical Graduates (IMGs) to pass on his learning and experience.

Farah Siddiqui (2025)

Farah led work to develop this resource in her role as RCOG Clinical Fellow on the Race Equity Project. Farah is also Head of school for the East Midlands region and a consultant in maternal-fetal medicine in Leicester.

Elsie Sowah (2025)
