Welcome to this Special Interest Training course on Pre-abortion assessment and support.

When you have completed this course, you will be able to:

• understand the decision-making process for those considering ending a pregnancy
• know how to support those requesting abortion including their information needs
• be able to describe a pre-abortion assessment, the information needs of those deciding on an abortion method, initiation of post-abortion contraception, management of pregnancy remains
• understand the special needs of some groups (e.g. under 18-year-old group, those vulnerable for other reasons).
