Course 1: Role of healthcare professionals in advocacy

Welcome to this Making Abortion Safe course on the Role of healthcare professionals in advocacy.

This course has been designed to introduce the concept of advocacy, and explore the role of healthcare professionals (HCPs) as advocates to expand access to safe abortion and post-abortion care.

When you have completed this course you will be able to:

• explain what advocacy is
• describe how HCPs can play a role in advocating for improved access to safe abortion (SA) and post-abortion (PA) care
• identify the different levels at which advocacy can be done
• know the different platforms that can be used to support your advocacy efforts.
