Welcome to this RCOG Curriculum 2024 resource.

The RCOG is introducing Curriculum 2024 – covering all core and special interest elements, including subspecialty training – to equip the obstetrics and gynaecology profession with the skills, knowledge and attributes needed for the future.

This resource has been developed to guide obstetrics and gynaecology doctors through their transition to Curriculum 2024 and to support doctors new to obstetrics and gynaecology with Curriculum 2024. It looks at why a change was needed, what has changed, and the resources that are available to enable doctors to transfer to this curriculum successfully.

We will be updating this resource over the coming months to provide further information and guidance, including additional support for the Training ePortfolio, ARCP webinars and reflective learning opportunities, aligned with the launch and implementation of Curriculum 2024.

When you have completed this course, you will be able to:

  • understand why a change to the obstetrics and gynaecology curriculum was needed
  • explain the structure of the obstetrics and gynaecology curriculum and how it is assessed
  • recognise what is different and the impact that this has on the training programme/educational supervision
  • understand the transition process from Curriculum 2019 to Curriculum 2024 and how to access the guidance materials and resources available to support this.
