The Accessible Information Standard is a statutory requirement provider in England that began meeting from the 31st July 2016 to identify, record, flag and share information and communication needs of patients, service users, carers and parents that relate to sensory or learning impairments.
All healthcare professionals delivering front-line care should be aware of the standard and the responsibility they have to flag up and action any such needs.
e-LfH have produced an open access interactive e-learning resource aimed at supporting all health and social care staff to effectively apply and follow the Accessible Information Standard.
