In this section we will consider some of the common approaches to teaching and learning, and provide a theoretical background of these. This will enable you to develop teaching sessions with a view to improving the quality of your teaching. These sessions tend to have clear learning outcomes, be arranged ahead of time and require some form of preparation by the teacher and sometimes the students.
Each of the educational strategies described on the following pages are from a large, available range. It is important that the choice of teaching method facilitates the delivery of the material you wish to deliver. The stages in the delivery process are first to define what you wish the student to learn and then to consider the most appropriate educational approach.
The section also briefly includes opportunities for medical education to become a more formal part of your O&G career.
