Most clinicians can meet their obligation to be clinical teachers in medicine. They will have little requirement for additional training in medical education to ensure they become a role model and information provider.
Facilitating teaching and learning and participating in assessments are activities in which most clinicians will be involved and they will usually require some additional focused training in these aspects of medical education.
Taking on roles in curriculum planning and resource development are more likely to be undertaken by clinicians who make medical education a significant component of their job plan.
You will explore in more detail aspects of these roles as you progress through this tutorial and other tutorials in the module.
