In this case study we will explore how external factors can influence a person’s behaviour and how this may lead to a misunderstanding. External factors are not excuses for certain behaviours in the workplace but are frequently the explanation.
Some unpleasant experiences that are encountered in the workplace may be perceived as a form of bullying, harassment or undermining behaviour. However that may not have been the intention of the person at the time.
Whilst the intention is to maintain good professional behaviour, these external factors may have a detrimental effect on how the situation evolves and appears to colleagues.
